Taylan Özdemir strike lifts Eyüpspor to second

Eyüpspor stayed patient against Kasımpaşa, read the decisive moment of the game well and claimed all three points with a single goal. Taylan Özdemir’s finish proved enough to settle the contest, while the home side also stood firm at the back without making a mistake.

With this result, Eyüpspor finished the week in second place and kept the pressure on the teams above them in the title race. Kasımpaşa, meanwhile, came away empty-handed on a night when they struggled to create chances and failed to ease the congestion near the bottom of the table.

Taylan Özdemir was one of Eyüpspor’s standout performers on the night, while Baran Deniz Güler’s display in midfield also helped keep the balance in the home side’s favour. Goalkeeper Şeref Topaloğlu made three saves to prevent the scoreline changing during Kasımpaşa’s spells of pressure. For the visitors, Hakan Mamak was among the most resilient figures in defence, but his efforts were not enough to alter the outcome.

In a match where Kasımpaşa had less of the ball, produced fewer shots and lacked cutting edge in the final third, Eyüpspor did what they needed to do to protect their lead. Rather than dominating the game, they were rewarded for choosing the right moments.
