İstanbulspor managed just one shot all match, a telling reflection of Kayserispor’s defensive discipline. The visitors gave their opponents no room or clear chances, and scored twice from just three attempts to earn a 2-0 win in Istanbul.
Kayserispor’s defence did more than protect the lead: centre-back Julian Klesper also got forward and found the net. Ali Berkay Sarı then doubled the advantage, leaving İstanbulspor with little hope of getting back into the match. The hosts’ goalkeeper made one save, but their limited attacking threat meant it was not enough to get them a result.
Tahsin Çelik stood out in midfield, making six tackles and providing an assist. His nine-point performance earned him the player-of-the-match award. Mihael Katona also contributed an assist. Kayserispor claimed their second three-point haul of the season, following their opening-week win over Konyaspor. The result, after a defeat to Samsunspor, lifted them from ninth to fifth.
İstanbulspor had drawn with Samsunspor and lost to Kocaelispor in their first two matches. They failed to score again here, dropping from 16th to 17th. Kayserispor’s defensive solidity and clinical finishing proved decisive.
