Gaziantep FK and Samsunspor played out a goalless draw in TEFL’s 29th-week fixture. Neither side managed to break the deadlock as the points were shared, with defensive discipline and a measured approach taking centre stage.
Gaziantep FK failed to make the same impact in attack after beating Fatih Karagümrük SK 4-1 in their previous match. The home side did not register a shot throughout the game, completing 54 passes, while four saves helped them keep a clean sheet. Centre-back Kerem Özbay was Gaziantep FK’s standout performer, earning a 7.2 rating and keeping a clean sheet.
Samsunspor, meanwhile, picked up a point away from home after their 0-1 defeat to Kasımpaşa. Although the visitors managed just one shot, they dominated their opponents in possession through their passing game. Serkan Mert and Recep Çapkın stood out in a Samsunspor side that completed 86 passes. Mert was the highest-rated player in the match with an 8.8 rating, while Çapkın finished on 8.6.
The result took Samsunspor to 57 points and saw them retain third place. Gaziantep FK moved up to 43 points but slipped from fifth to sixth in the standings. Both teams maintained their defensive resilience in a goalless contest, but neither side’s lack of attacking threat was enough to alter the outcome.
