Rizespor edge Karagümrük to climb fifth

In Rize, Çaykur Rizespor edged Fatih Karagümrük SK by a single goal in a low-tempo but tense contest that went right down to the wire. The home side stayed disciplined at the back and got the job done on a night when chances were few and far between.

The standout performer was Doğukan Kemük, who looked assured between the posts. The young goalkeeper helped his side protect their lead with a key save and also kept a clean sheet. Rizespor did not create much going forward, but their compact shape and alert recovery work were the main reasons they came away with the result.

Fatih Karagümrük SK, meanwhile, struggled to turn possession into clear-cut chances. The visitors were limited to just three shots on target, and although they kept battling defensively, they could not find the final touch needed to take anything from the game. With this result, Çaykur Rizespor moved up to fifth in the table and strengthened their position near the top.

Given their recent form, this win for Rizespor was about more than just three points; it was also a statement that they intend to stay in the race. For Karagümrük, a balanced-looking performance counted for little as they left empty-handed.
