Konya hosted a tense contest in which the scoreboard stayed tight for a long time, before Konyaspor took control in the closing stages. Samsunspor produced more shots, but the home side showed greater composure when the big chances came and came away with a 2-1 win.
For the green-and-whites, Efe Erboz and Alboran Yelmen were the men on target, while Çağrı Akalın and Galip Türkarslan stood out in the build-up to the goals. At the back, Kerem Özbay made the difference with an 8.5-rated performance; his key interventions kept Konyaspor standing firm and earned him the man-of-the-match award.
For Samsunspor, Kaan Katran’s goal and the chance created by Serkan Mert kept the pressure on for much of the game, but it was not enough to take a point. The visitors had more of the ball and tried more often, yet they could not break down Konyaspor’s discipline in the final third.
The win lifts Konyaspor from 13th to 12th place. Samsunspor, meanwhile, drop from fifth to sixth, with the sting of a missed opportunity felt by a side still chasing the teams above them.
